R5000 is required upfront to cover any insurance excess

When do I get by deposit back?

Immediately, after confirmation of no speeding fines, damage & as long as fuel tank is full

Yes, STRICTLY within a 200km radius of Cape Town

We have a wide range from entry level to luxury vehicles as well as new cars available

How do I pay?

Via EFT, debit / credit card or in cash as well as forex accepted

What do I do if I have an accident?

In the unfortunate event of an accident, remember the following important guidelines:

  1. Take care of/get help for the injured
    2. Do not admit liability in any circumstances
    3. Take down all the particulars of the other driver/s or persons/witnesses involved –
    Name, Identification No, Vehicle Registration, Insurance Details and Contact Details
    4. Notify Richies Rentals immediately
    5. Do not have the vehicle towed away unless authorized by Richies Rentals
    6. Report the incident immediately to the South African Police – make sure to obtain a
    Police reference number

How does insurance work?

You receive fully comprehensive insurance, in the unfortunate event of an accident, if it is your fault, you forfeit your deposit, if not you will receive a replacement car and provided that is returned undamaged, you will receive your deposit in full.

Any minor damage will be deducted from your deposit

What do I require to rent a car?

South African I D / Passport

If non SA citizen then a copy of passport
Copy of valid driver’s licence
Proof of address (recent, if applicable)

Recent Payslips (if applicable)

Do you hire extras?

Yes, we have a range of GPS / Satellite Navigation units, baby seats, prams and roof racks for hire, please contact us to discuss

Can I drop the car off any time of the day?

Yes we have a 24 hour returns policy whereby the keys can be returned  in a secure  drop box (Solly Freedburg location only)
